Fall Flair Blog Hop - Brilliance Table Runner

Welcome to my stop on the Fall Flair Blog Hop!  I was excited to join in with Jennifer at the Inquiring Quilter to promote her signature collection, it's so pretty!  It was a great opportunity to play with some new fabric and make a table runner for fall.  I'm excited to be first on the tour, and show you my project!

I really love that this collection includes rich dark blues along with the beautiful golds and browns we associate with Autumn. It's the perfect combination! For my table runner I decided to make four Crown of Thorn blocks and set them on point with a half nine patch.

I like that this collection also includes some nice lights for the background!

Trimming up isn't my favorite, but it does ensure that your blocks are nice and flat and the points look great.

I wasn't sure what thread I would use to quilt my runner, but this color was perfect!  It looks a bit purplish, but it works so well with all the fabrics I used!  My Aurifil stash very seldom lets me down!

 I made my runner extra long so I can use it when I put the leaf in my table.  It ended up at 18 x 72.

I had to do some fussy cutting for those light orange squares, I really wanted the directional design in this print to be consistent in my design.  It took a bit more time and brain power, but was totally worth the effort, in my opinion!
