Stepping Stones in Flora is finished - UFO for March 2022

I finally got to work on quiting my March UFO - Stepping Stones in Flora.  This was a kit I had purchased on Craftsy several years ago.  I completed the top last year, but didn't quilt it, so it made my UFO list for this year.  I purchased the backing at the end of February, so was excited to have it's umber drawn for the March project!

I basted it early in the month, then set it aside because I couldn't decide how to quilt it.  After thinking about it for the last few weeks, I determined that the fabrics are so busy and vibrant that quiting isn't going to show up so I decided to go with a simple meander.  I used a gray 50 wt aurifil thread and was very pleased with the results!  Lots of texture, and the piecing is definitely the star of the quilt!  As it should be.

I think it is a pretty quilt - it's a large one, perfect for a queen bed.  The colors are super fun and vibrant.  I have someone in mind for this one...it'll be fun to see if she likes it as much as I do!  I'm happy to have my quilt finished early, and am looking forward to seeing what next months UFO will be!
