I finally got to work on quiting my March UFO - Stepping Stones in Flora. This was a kit I had purchased on Craftsy several years ago. I completed the top last year, but didn't quilt it, so it made my UFO list for this year. I purchased the backing at the end of February, so was excited to have it's umber drawn for the March project!
I basted it early in the month, then set it aside because I couldn't decide how to quilt it. After thinking about it for the last few weeks, I determined that the fabrics are so busy and vibrant that quiting isn't going to show up so I decided to go with a simple meander. I used a gray 50 wt aurifil thread and was very pleased with the results! Lots of texture, and the piecing is definitely the star of the quilt! As it should be.I think it is a pretty quilt - it's a large one, perfect for a queen bed. The colors are super fun and vibrant. I have someone in mind for this one...it'll be fun to see if she likes it as much as I do! I'm happy to have my quilt finished early, and am looking forward to seeing what next months UFO will be!
