June Mini Madness 2021 - Setting ideas and finishing!

Took me a little longer than I planned to get my final instructions ready, but here they are for you!  You can set your blocks how you like, but for the beginners, I wanted to give some options and directions.  I saw that a friend used her blocks from last year to make a runner, so that's what I did with my six inch blocks!

This is an easy option for setting your blocks, just sew them right next to each other.  It did take me a while to arrange them, but it was fun!  I really love all the colors in this, so it was fun to see them all sewn together.  This runner measures 18 x 60 inches, perfect for my table!  The 4 inch blocks will make a 12 x 40 inch runner, which would be great for the top of a dresser or a smaller table.

If you would like to make a quilt with sashing or set your blocks on point, you can find the directions for doing that here:

Oh, and while I'm at it, I didn't post a link to the instructions for the last 5 blocks - you can get those here:

I decided to quilt my runner with a simple crosshatch, which was easy to do because the blocks are all based on a four-patch grid.  I pulled out all my purple spools of Aurifil to choose which one I wanted to use.

I ended up choosing the spool on the right for my quilting.  I put my walking foot on my machine and went to work!

It didn't take too long and I had the whole runner finished and ready for binding.  I had enough of the purple with the sun design for the binding, so used that.  In case your forgot, this line is Northern Lights from Island Batik.  So pretty!  It was from last year, but I found quite a bit of it available by searching online, so if you need some, it's out there!  I had a perfect size scrap of Hobbs Natural cotton batting to use for this table runner too, so it was nice to be able to put it to use.

So pretty!  I hope you enjoyed making these blocks as much as I did!  I'm still working on finishing up the rest of my 4 inch blocks, so I'll share those when I get them done.  Thanks for playing along with me!  I'd love to see what you do with your blocks, so make sure to tag me on social media so I can see them.

Happy Quilting!

Thanks Pam. This has been fun even though I still have a few more blocks to sew. Now I just have to decide between sashing and on point.

Thank you so much. I fell behind with the last blocks as I was out traveling. I'll come back to them when I come home. Then I can play around to see what I'm using the blocks for.
