June Mini Madness 2021 Block 25

We are back to puzzling with today's block - it's called Star Puzzle, and it's got a nice mixture of flying geese and triangles and some careful color placement.

Cutting instructions:

For 4 inch block cut two 1 7/8 inch squares of light and background, and four of dark (cut in half diagonally), four 1 ½ inch squares of dark and light, and four 1 ½ x 2 ½ inch rectangles background.

For 6 inch block cut two 2 3/8  inch squares of light and background, and four of dark (cut in half diagonally), four 2 inch squares of dark and light, and four 2 x 3 ½ inch rectangles background.

Start by sewing four light/dark half square triangles.

Arrange and sew into a pinwheel, making sure your light and dark fabrics are in the correct orientation.

Next we start the flying geese.  These will use light fabric on one side and dark on the other.  They are all the same, so the easiest way for me to get these started is to lay out the background rectangle, crease or mark a line on the back of the light fabric and lay it out on the rectangle so I can make sure I am actually sewing it the correct way!  Sew all four light squares to the background rectangles.

Next, add the dark squares in the same manner.

Now it's time to sew the four corners by sewing the dark/background half square triangles.

Lay out, and sew together.

Congratulations, you have completed the Star Puzzle block!  Only 5 more blocks to go!  Keep up the good work...
