March 4 2019–Monday Motivation

When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Even though I love light, bright colors it is the dark contrast that really makes those light colors shine – sometimes I have to remind myself of this when I’m working on a quilt design and it just is blah, often all it needs is more contrast, and for me that often means adding a dark fabric.  I really didn’t like some of the dark greens in this quilt, but when you put it all together, those colors really make the lighter colors pop!

It’s time to get rolling on March projects.  Among my goals this month are to get that Brothers and Sisters Quilt finished.  I have the March Island Batik challenge – Vintage Reimagined.  Blog Hop – All About Strings.  There will be two new blocks for the Seashore Splendor quilt to post, plus blocks to make for various sew alongs (how many did I commit to?) There’s the Grinch Panel that’s in line for quilting, plus another quilt basted, and a flimsy that’s ready for basting.  Not to mention final touches on the Wedding  Gown!  I guess I’d better be glad that March has a few extra days, I’m going to need them all!  As usual, my project list looks rather intimidating…

Looks like you have your work cut out for you, but you can do it. You're right, that quilt with the contrast and bright colors is really lovely.
