Happy Saturday! Since I had to post the new block for Seashore Spendor I waited until today to do my monthly summary. I did a lot of sewing again in February - I did not finish my OMG project (Brothers and Sisters quilt), but it is basted and ready for quilting, so it will be done shortly. (It's king size, so will take me a few days of work to quilt it.)
I had two finishes for Project Quilting - both of which also were Mini Quilts, so also fulfilled the requirement for the February Island batik Ambassador Challenge! Quilt number one was lots and lots of blue and neutral triangles! The original pattern was called Blues Bayou - perfect! The theme for the Project Quilting part of it was Bigger Than a Breadbox, so it was great there, too at 20 inches square. This quilt is now available in my Etsy shop for purchase.
The second mini/Project Quilting Challenge was my pixilated Eiffel Tower.
The theme for this challenge was Pixel Play - it was so much fun! I'm looking for more designs to make with this technique now. This little quilt is definitely a keeper, and will hang on my wall in my sewing room.
I also participated in a Blog hop - Dust off a Quilting Book! I made this pretty quilt using teal and brown scraps from Island Batik. I did all the cutting on the Accuquilt GO! and just loved the accuracy and ease of putting those blocks together.
This one is available in my Etsy shop for purchase.
I finished a Nine by Nine quilt as a sample for Threads That Bind:
This is pretty and very subtle! I really like the bright pink against the grey.
I also made a Jelly Roll Rug - fun project! I would like to make more of these.
In between all this I did some hemming of dresses and a few other alterations. I (finally) got the Seashore Splendor Quilt Along started, and wrote a block pattern for the Stonehenge Solstice Block Contest for the quilt shop (can't wait to show you that!).
I finished the February Color Challenge block. I didn't get my Quilter's Planner Blocks for February done, but will get those done today for sure! I pulled and cut fabric for the Daisy Chain Mystery. I'm also going to participate in the Sew Let's Quilt Along - because I just don't have enough projects to work on! Haha!
And, I just realized today that I opened my Etsy shop 13 years ago tomorrow! I'm going to have a big sale, so if you are interested in one of my quilts, or pdf patterns, you will want to check it out...
Looking forward to a busy and fun March!
