This month went by super fast, but it was good - I did a lot of quilting! My favorite finish of the month was my Paris One Block Wonder!
A couple of years ago I purchased this lovely Paris panel, and made a One Block Wonder quilt with it - or at least I had finished the top. I even purchased the backing, but still ended up putting it away for a while. This year I decided that it was time to get it out and finish it so I can use and enjoy it. I chose a simple meander for the quilting. And here it is! Finished just in time to enter into the county fair - happy to have won a red ribbon for this one!
I entered my Road Trip mini as well and got a blue on it! The funny thing is that it was hung upside down at the fair - and it even has a hanging sleeve, so it's pretty obvious which way it should go. I love making mini blocks, and I am really excited that the August Island Batik Ambassador challenge is to make a mini quilt! More about that a bit later in this post...
I finished this top in July - it is the Ticker Tape pattern from Missouri Star Quilt Company. These Wild Vista fabrics are so pretty! This is the kit I got for Mother's day, so I'll be keeping this quilt as well! So fun to make quilts for me once in a while.
My most gratifying finish for the month was this quilt. It was a custom order, and I had the most difficult time trying to figure out what to do with this panel. Once I got started, though it came together brilliantly! In fact, I love it so much that I am going to make another version for a different panel and write up the pattern. It's always hard to figure out what to do with a panel beside just add borders, so I am pretty happy with this one.
I'm working on a cute sample for the quilt shop - I love this panel! This is a purchased pattern, I'll let you know the details when it's done. It's a pretty quick project so far, and it's kind of fun to work from someone else's directions for a change.
And of course, I've been enjoying working in my garden. The roses have been extra beautiful this year!
Back to the Miniature challenge! I am challenging myself to remake my first Mini Madness quilt from 2020 using these fabrics. I'm going to make a block a day with these beautiful fabrics - Tranquil Moments and Naturally Neutral. The 10 inch squares will give me a great variety of color in my blocks. I'm planning on using the peachy color for the cornerstones and the blue for the border. Would you like to join me? You can get the pattern for half price in my payhip shop with the code 1Blockaday
