Finished at Last!

Dec 31 - the end of a year, and the end of a journey.  It's taken 16 years, lots of blue fabric and perseverance and ingenuity to get here, but at long last I can scratch this project off my list of things to finish!

And tonight I sleep under it!  I hope my first dreams of the New Year will be delightful!  This is my first bed quilt using wool batting, so I am hoping it will be nice and warm.

Taking the last stitches in the binding!  So happy to get to the end - this took about 6 hours of hand stitching total and my finger is a bit sore!

It fits nicely on my bed!  I want to make some pretty shams to go on the bed, too now!  Oh yes, there is always something else to make, right?

And look at what I saw out of my window first thing this morning!  I just feel like it's a good omen of a Hopeful New Year!

I'm happy to say that completing this quilt was my One Monthly Goal this month, and completes my Quilting PHD in 2020!

I finished 16 UFOs this year, plus started and completed an additional 38 projects!  I guess that shows what you can accomplish in a year of staying at home.  Lots of stitching happened here!  Let's see what 2021 brings!

A very Hopeful New Year to all of you!

Congratulations, it is beautiful! I think mine took me 6 years. I worked on it from 1997 to 2003.
