For 3 inch block, cut one 1 ½ inch square and eight 1 inch
squares of your background. From Red cut
four 1 x 2 ½ inch rectangles and four 1 x 2 ½ inch rectangles.
For 6 inch block, cut one 2 ½ inch square and eight 1 ½ inch
squares of your background. From red cut
four 1 ½ x 2 ½ inch rectangles and four 1 ½ x 4 ½ inch rectangles.
Sew the center patches into a simple (but small) nine patch unit.
Next repeat and sew the larger units in the same manner! The pieces are small, so you need to be patient, but you can do this!
So lovely! Are your piecing skills growing with the practice? I hope so!
As promised, I am having a linky party so you can add your links, and I'll draw a winner for a surprise bundle of fabric left from a previous Island Batik project! If you don't know how to link up, just send email your picture to me at pamelaquilts@gmail.com and I will take care of it for you. The linky party ends at midnight on Wednesday the 10th and I'll announce the winner on the 11th!
I can't wait to see your progress! Hope you are having as much fun as I am - I'll share my second set of blocks with you on Monday. If you want to see me sew them together, check out my Facebook page
