June Mini Madness: Block 27 Dutch Windmill

Time to introduce the last new unit for this series - the Flying Geese unit used to make this Dutch Windmill block.  Once again, lots of pieces, but the sew and flip makes it easy!
Lets cut out our pieces!

For a 3 inch block cut four 1 ¼ x 2 inch rectangles of blue and red. Cut sixteen 1 ¼ squares of background.

For a 6 inch block cut four 2 x 3 ½ inch rectangles of blue and red. Cut sixteen 2 inch squares of background.
Place a background square on the corner of the rectangle units and stitch from corner to corner.  .
Trim about 1/8 of an inch to the outside of the stitching line and press out
Repeat with the remaining squares.
When finished trim to 1 1/4 x  2 inches.
Sew the red "geese" tot he top of the blue "geese".  Arrange so your Flying Geese rotate in a clockwise pattern and sew together, match up those points in the center!
I hope your block comes out great!  Just 3 blocks to go!

Debbi Manders was the winner of this weeks fabric prize - I'll pick out one more bundle of goodies to give a way this week for our big finish.  Have a wonderful Saturday!

Hi Pamela,
Your mini madness is true madness!! :-)
I've been following along and it looks like fun, but I haven't bitten into the madness ... yet!
Can't wait to see all of the creations of those following along with you!
Happy Quilting! :-)
