June Mini Madness: Block 23 Diamond in the Square

Time to relax a little and do an easier block!  This one is very simple using an easy and fast sew and flip technique.
Even the cutting is simple.

For 3 inch block cut one 3 ½ inch square of background fabric and four 2 inch squares of red.

For 6 inch block cut one 6 ½ inch square of background fabric and four 3 ½ inch squares of red.

Draw a diagonal line on the back of all four red squares.  Line them up, right sides together an edges even on the corners of the block - I like to do two at a time, diagonally across the block.  Sew on the line, then fold back to be sure they are positioned correctly.  Trim off the excess fabric 1/4 inch from the seam and press.

Sew the second set of squares to the block, repeating the process.

And that's it!  Well done!

Make sure you check out the Stitiching Sunshine Blog hop that Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks is hosting this week!  I'll be posting on Wednesday (tomorrow), so I will be writing two posts for the day!  Lots of fun projects so far, you will enjoy them!
