June Mini Madness - Block 18 Churn Dash

Back to half square triangles, plus some strip piecing to make those rectangles!  Churn Dash (or Monkey Wrench) is another great traditional block.
Here's what you need to cut:

For 3 inch block, cut 1 x 7 inch strip of red, two 1 7/8 squares (cut in half diagonally) of blue, and two 1 7/8 inch squares (cut in half diagonally) a 1 x 7 strip and a 1 ½ inch square of background.

For 6 inch block, cut 1 ½ x 12 inch strip of red, two 2 7/8 squares (cut in half diagonally) of blue, and two 2 7/8 inch squares (cut in half diagonally) a 1 1/2 x 12 strip and a 2 ½ inch square of background.

Sew red and background strips together on long side. Cut into 1 ½ (2 ½ for 6 inch block) squares. Sew Blue/white triangle pairs. Lay out as shown and sew together.

So cute!

I drew for the name for the prize this week, there were 12 entries in all and Allison Bird is the winner!  Thanks to everyone for sharing their blocks, it's fun to see so many people sewing along.  I'll put together another prize for this week and we'll share our blocks from this week - so keep sewing!
