Today's block is Road to California. Another combination of half square triangles and squares, this one is not going to be difficult at all!
For a 3 inch block, cut two 1 7/8 squares of red (cut in half
diagonally), three 1 ½ squares of blue, and two 1 7/8 squares (cut in half
diagonally) and two 1 ½ squares of background.
For a 6 inch block, cut two 2 7/8 squares of red (cut in half diagonally), three 2 ½ squares of blue, and two 2 7/8 squares (cut in half diagonally) and two 2 ½ squares of background.
Sew 1 ½ inch half square triangles (2 ½ inch for 6 inch block) from red and white triangles. Arrange triangles with blue and white squares as shown and sew in a nine patch.
Match up those points carefully! I had to sew this one a second time to get a better result!
Looking much better, my seam allowance had wandered off by just a few threads.
What a difference that small amount makes in the end result...
Finished!

Have a great Monday!

I’m a so enjoying this project still! I’ve been writing down the instructions for each block and hope to make it up again in different colors. I stuck to the red, white and blue, as I had a lot of scraps leftover from another quilt I had just finished.
