June Mini Madness - Block 12 Snowball Variation

These are the same units as the Friendship Star, just arranged differently for a great look!
This block is called a Snowball Variation in EQ8, but I've also seen it called an O block.

For 3 inch block, cut two 1 7/8 squares (cut in half diagonally) and one 1 ½ square of blue.  Cut two 1 7/8 (cut in half diagonally) and four 1 ½ inch squares of background fabric.

For 6 inch block, cut two 2 7/8 squares (cut in half diagonally) and one 2 ½ square of blue.  Cut two 2 7/8 (cut in half diagonally) and four 2 ½ inch squares of background fabric.

Start out by sewing your blue/white half square triangle units.  Then arrange them as above.
Arrange in a nine patch configuration and sew your rows together, then join the rows to finish your block.
Easy as pie, right?  I'm so excited to see all the blocks you are all making, and I am soo happy to hear you are enjoying the quiltalong!  Thank you for making it worth while!

Somehow I managed to turn the snowball into a friendship star the first time. Second one turned out right.
