Weekend Sewing Progress

Since the days are blending into each other a bit, I've been trying to keep the weekends for the fun sewing, just to have a bit more of a routine.  This weekend, I actually got to go in to work at the quilt shop for a couple hours.  I cut kits for a couple of projects and got fabric for a sample.  Then I came home and worked on finishing up my One Monthly Goal for the month!
I thought for weeks about how to quilt this, but in the end I decided on a hook swirl over the whole thing.  I really like it!  I used a soft gold thread from Aurifil in 50 wt.  It took me longer to figure out how to quilt it than it took to actually do it...haha!
I thought about outlining the stones, but there was sooo much sky in the panel, that I really felt an overall quilting pattern would work the best.
I used one of the blues from the Solstice collection for the binding.
And here's the backing.  After that I decided to quilt the Windmills table topper I started earlier this month.  I was having a hard time trying to decide how to quilt it, too.
I decided to use a bright yellow thread and quilted a kind of a sun looking motif using echoed circles in the center and squiggly sun rays coming out from there.  It came out pretty nicely!
Then I added a sunny yellow binding to finish it off.
It's always nice to have some solids or tone on tones for bindings.  I only had 6 inches of this, but it was just enough to do the job!

So, it was a good weekend - I finished two projects.  Make sure you check out the

I love this panel, have drooled over it when I see it on IG. Of course the design is great but its the colors that draw me in.
