If you like making quilts for charity, you need to know about the program Accuquilt is running! There are monthly prizes of fabric and accuquilt points, and a big grand prize at the end. Which means you can make even more quilts to give away! Island Batik is one of the sponsors, so I volunteered to post about it this month to help spread the word. You can see the details here. It's very easy to enter, just donate a quilt and post on social media! They also have a facebook page for the group where you can post your quilt.
I'll be donating this quilt to the Kid's Hope Center. This is a center that helps with children who have been sexually abused. I hope this quilt can help make a child feel comforted and safe. This is a sample I made for the Island Batik Catalog from the Mermaid Cove collection. It's very cheerful! The pattern is Monkey Around.
I'd like to challenge you to make a quilt and enter it into the Covering the World in this pay it forward challenge - it really is rewarding to make donation quilts, and there are so many worthy causes. Quilts are indeed a great comfort, and you can help cover the world with that comfort!
