Chilhowie Obsessed!

Seems like all I can think of this week is working on finishing up Bonnie Hunter's Mystery quilt - Chilhowie, and of course my week has been crazy with not much sewing time.  I have got the center of the quilt together and am working on completing the edges.  It's so pretty!

Last Thursday evening I went to the quilt guild meeting and had an awesome time.  I had accumulated a lot of Stash Builder rolls from the past years of being an Island Batik Ambassador, so I loaded up a tote bag with about 40 of them and gave them out to all the members that were there!  I came home with three!  Funny how the solids got overlooked - I love them.  Might have to make something fun out of these and take it to the next meeting so everyone can see what they missed out on!

I did take a couple hours to get caught up on the Sewcialites 2 quil along!  Such cute blocks, I'm really enjoying them.  They are so different and pretty!

This one was super easy and really shows off that cute cactus fabric!  (Island Batik Sunset Plains)

This one was more challenging, but really stunning!  The green fabric in the middle is a different collection, but I wanted a bright green to add to my quilt.  Now I'm all caught up!  I hope to find time for some sewing tomorrow, but have to get ready to host Bunco on Friday, so probably not.  Oh well - next week for sure will see my Chilhowie quilt top finished.  It's not a race, right?

  1. Your Chilhowie quilt is pretty! I have a stack of fabrics that I pulled for this mystery quilt . . . and they are still sitting right where I left them. December was about the worst month for me to do a quilt along. But I have them pulled, right? So maybe one day I'll dive in. The pattern and colors do play out nicely. Your cactus block is darling!

  3. Hi Pamela!
Nope, it's not a race! I was at a retreat this week and hoped to get my sashings done ... but it was too confusing without my design board ... so it got set aside!
Your Chilhowie is looking great! I like how your backgrounds aren't super busy!! I think it makes the design shine more!
    Happy Quilting! :-)
