Today's block is similar to yesterday's block, this one I am just calling Grid. Four patches and some rectangles make for quick sewing.
For the four inch block you will need one 1 x 9 inch strip of background and medium fabrics and two of dark fabric. You will also need four 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 rectangles of dark fabric.
For the six inch block you will need one 1 1/4 x 11 inch strip each of backround and medium fabrics and two of the dark fabric. You will also need four 2 x 3 1/2 inch rectangles of dark fabric.
Sew a background and a medium strip to the dark strips.
Cut each strip set into eight strips 1 (1 1/4) inches wide, and sew these together to make four 4-patch units from each strip set.
Set aside two sets of 4-patch units of each for the corners, and use the remaining ones to make the center square, with the medium and background squares forming an x through the center of the block.
Arrange as shown and sew together to complete block.
I just love this dark purple...so pretty!
Two blocks, one in four inch and one in six inch size!

Enjoy! We are already almost a week in, already - hard to believe. See you on Monday with block number 7!
