June Mini Madness: Block 19 Birds in the Air

Block 19 is a little different than the blocks we've been doing, so it will be a fun challenge for you!
This block is made up with a large triangle and lots of little triangles.  Here are the cutting instructions:

For 3 inch block, cut one 3 7/8 inch square in half diagonally, three 1 7/8 inch squares (cut in half diagonally) of blue and two 1 7/8 squares of red (cut in half diagonally)

For 6 inch block, cut one 6 7/8 inch square in half diagonally, three 2 7/8 inch squares (cut in half diagonally) of blue and two 2 7/8 squares of red (cut in half diagonally)

Discard one white and red triangle.  Lay out as shown, then sew three red/blue triangle pairs.
Sew two triangle pairs together and add a triangle to the top.  Add another triangle to the top of the single half square triangle pair.

Sew the triangle sets together to make a pieced triangle.  Clip off those dog ears!

Your pieced triangle should exactly match your white triangle.

Now you are ready to sew them together to complete your block!

I hope your block comes out great!  I am excited to see how they come out!

Hi Pamela, I think you meant to add "of red" after the size of the 2 small triangles.
