June Mini Madness: Block 11 Hourglass

Are you ready for a new block?  This one is a nice and easy one for you, just a couple four patch units and half square triangles.  We'll use two colors for this block.

For 3 inch blocks, cut one 2 3/8 square (cut in half diagonally) of red, four 1 ¼ inch squares of blue, and one 2 3/8 (cut in half diagonally) and four 1 ¼ inch squares of background fabric.

For 6 inch blocks, cut one 3 7/8 square (cut in half diagonally) of red, four 2 inch squares of blue, and one 3 7/8 (cut in half diagonally) and four 2 inch squares of background fabric.

First you make your four patch units and sew the half square triangles together.  Both units will measure 2 inches (3 ½ inch for 6 inch blocks).

Now get them arranged and sew them togehter, make sure those squares form a diagonal line!
All fnished, and looking good!

I've got a winner for this weeks prize, and Moran of MoranArtandQuilts gets the fabric bundle:  these are leftovers from my project from the "Ditty" line by Island Batik.  They are so pretty!  I am excited to see what she does with them, her quilts are always creative and lovely.
I'll pick another set of fabric for Sunday and show you tomorrow...I'm looking forward to sharing another fun bundle!

Keep sewing those blocks!

Complete pattern now available!
