Mother's Day - time to say "Thanks, Mom" and appreciate the important women in our lives! Now that my girls are all grown and out of the nest it's a little different. I kind of miss those burnt toast and cold egg breakfast in bed times!
I don't remember ever fixing breakfast for my mom, though I might have, but I know I gave her lots of handmade gifts - paint by number pictures, and things created in school. And I probably picked flowers, sometimes from the neighbors gardens! These days, it's usually a phone call with a nice long chat - which we both enjoy immensely. So that is definitely on my schedule for the day today.
Mom in the middle! This was when we went out for their 50th anniversary celebration. So much fun. Can't believe that's been over 10 years ago!
And here are my 5 lovely daughters! I'm so glad we were able to celebrate two weddings last year, I feel badly for the brides that are figuring out what to do about their plans this summer.
And a funny picture from the other wedding! One of the best things is how much our family likes to laugh and have fun together. I am missing that right now, and look forward to the next time we will all be together....hopefully at Christmas, but we'll see what happens.
I know that I will definitely be sure to cherish being able to get together with family in the future, and hopefully remember to take more special pictures to remember those occasions!
Being a daughter, and being a mom, and watching my daughters mother their children are such blessings! Hope you are feeling blessed today, too!
Happy Mothers Day. I learned something new about you, 5 girls,
ReplyDeleteWOW. Being the 4th of 5 girls I know what your household must have been like. Enjoy the rest of your day.
