I don't share too many pictures of our cat, Scamper because he is so hard to get a nice picture of! Plus that, he's really a rather stand-offish sort who likes to keep to himself, or hang out with my husband. He doesn't enjoy being in my sewing room, and if he does come in tends to get into mischief. We laugh because he has a habit of changing out his chosen napping spots on a regular basis. I moved the quilted body pillow cover I made almost four years ago from the guest room down to the futon, and it has become his "best spot" for now! I actually managed to get some nice pictures of him there, so thought I would show you how pretty he is!
The quilt on the back of the futon is the sampler quilt I made from the Quilts, Quilts, Quilts book by Diana McClun and Laura Nownes. Definitely one of my favorite beginning quilting books. I don't think I've ever actually blogged about it, I suppose I'll have to put that on my list and get some nice pictures of it to show you. This is one of the first quilts that I machine quilted - just some simple meandering really made it all come together!I have been having a blast using the new die I was sent by Accuquilt as part of the Island Batik Ambassador program! It's Cleopatra's fan. I love being able to cut these curved pieces so easily, and believe it or not, I achieved these results with no pinning! That's right. I just match up the edges and the notches and sew the seams. Pretty amazing how perfect they look, isn't it? I'm having just as much fun arranging the blocks when they are done! Can't wait to get my project done so I can show you...
Scamper looks eager to see it as well - he'd probably like to lay on it, but no way is that going to happen!
I just have to say that I've been totally blown away by the response to yesterday's post - I am so glad everyone liked my block, I was a little nervous about it! Thanks for all the wonderful comments - I really do appreciate it. Sometimes it's a little hard to put yourself out there with something a bit different, so I am relieved that you all enjoyed it.
Last but not least, you only have one more day left to enter the Beat the Heat giveaway! I'll be drawing the winner on Thursday, so you'll want to make sure you have an opportunity to win.
Enough rambling for now - have a great Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteYour cat and my cat are twins! My cat "Hondo" came to us 2 years ago and he has such a sense of humor. He also prefers the men in the house over the girls. If he isn't cuddled on a quilt, he's out in the field mousing.
