The pieces in this project are small, but the instructions for putting it together were so easy to follow and Wendy thought of a really clever way to cut and sew those odd shaped pieces! The illustrations were great, as well and really helped me make sure I got everything sewn together in the right order. She used leftovers from the crossings quilt for hers, and I used some leftovers from my Caribbean Splash Fish Quilt and Sea Salt Sandy Sea Star quilt for mine! The background is also Island Batik - Swirl Circles in light grey that I bought last year for a different project. Isn't it pretty? I did the quilting with Aurifil 50 wt thread in pale yellow.
This was a really fun project to make, and I am thrilled with the end results.
As I was looking through the rest of the book I saw several projects that appealed to me. I really appreciated seeing the possibilities of using precuts, or fabrics from your stash (because you know we all have that stash issue). And the quilting is eye candy for sure! I loved the variety of different projects in the book as well, several would make fun gifts.
Take a minute and listen to Wendy's interview with Pat Sloan! You can also catch up with Wendy on her blog.

Gorgeous pillows! I've been thinking about making some new pillows, but first I need to get off the computer! 😊
Great Pillows!!!
I like the clean design - so nice for a sun room
That pillow is gorgeous. The negative space really makes those beautiful fabrics pop. Great work!
I've always been a fan of flying geese. Always a good design choice.
What a fun way to use your stash, the pattern really shows off the fabric

The pillow(s) are wonderful. Yes, I have quite a stash and too many pre-cuts so I know I can make good use of Wendy's book.
I love your pillow. The greens and yellows went together well. Thank you for the inspiration.
Beautiful pillows! I love pillows, just wish I had more room to put them. Thanks!

Gorgeous quilting! Nice project. :-)
Love your pillows. These would look great in my family room!
Great pillows. I really love light batiks and they seem hard to come by.
Love these. Beautiful design and work. I kept a journal as a teenager but have never done so as an adult.

I had to keep a journal for an English class in high school. I don't have the time anymore.

Lovely pillow! I keep an artistic journal beside my bed! I use it to write and doodle designs that I dream up!
Wonderful pillows! I kept a journal/diary as a kid but haven't in many many years.
I have never kept a journal but it should be something that I would enjoy. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.
So very pretty! Seeing your pillow as an example of the projects in this book I am going to have to get a copy. Thanks for joining the hop and sharing your project. Rina

So I won't forget, yes I keep a journal. I like to go back and be remind of fun times. I learned to skip writing about the not so great ones. Their not so fun. Your pillows are so cheerful and perky. Could use them right about now. Thanks for joining the hop. I know sometime that's not easy to squeeze into our schedules.
Blessings

Gorgeous quilting! Nice project. :-)
I have never kept a journal but I think it would be good to do one just for quilts.
I love your color placement!
My favorite color right now is orange. From creamsicle to salmon I love them all
Lovely work on this project! Looks like fun
Love your pillow! I have a partially finished little little quilt that would look real nice with that. Little like a small table topper.
Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Cute pattern, love it!
My favorite color to work with is blue: Light blue, dark blue, bright blue, pastel blue. Overall I like tropical colors, particularly in batiks. -- soparkaveataoldotcom
I love the quilting on the pillows.
I always keep a journal about my quilts. I use it to record everything from the thread I quilted it with, to different layouts, to running calculations for binding and border lengths, when I started and finished, who it's for, fabrics I used (sometimes with samples), costs associated with the quilt, everything I can think of: if I do it I write it down. This has saved my bacon so many times, plus it's a wonderful way to look back and remember quilts made and see progress in quilting. I would recommend this for any quilter, new or seasoned!
I don't keep a journal, but maybe I should especially when I start something and don't finish until years later, and then I am scrambling looking for fabric.
Beautiful!
