ReplyDeleteRegarding the question about unconventional tools...
Many years ago, in a class at a big quilt show, I heard the tip to use a wallpaper seam roller when paper piecing. I used the roller I had previously used for hanging wallpaper and it was so helpful. Now there are better rollers available and some marketed just for piecing, so I guess it's not so unconventional anymore. I still use a roller but I did get an improved model.
Looking forward to seeing all the projects in these great batiks. For turning and pushing out corners I often use a chopstick.
ReplyDeleteI have a marble pizza roller that I use for paper piecing. Works perfect everytime.
ReplyDeleteI love my grapefruit spoon - for assembling quilt with safety pins. The teeth on the spoon help easily close the safety pins when pinning the three layers of quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe colours are lovely. It was nice of you to learn that your friend likes blue and use it in the border. I am new to paper piecing and found it to be rather fiddly. It didn’t help that twice I cut off the patch instead of the seam allowance. Oh, well. I’m learning.

ReplyDeleteThe colors are beautiful!! I can't think of a tool I use that's not sewing/quilting related, but I certainly have enough tools!! :-) I have a terrible habit of wanting to buy every new thing that comes on the market, and quite often, I do! :-) Thanks so much for the chance to win!
